Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust: A New Era of Integrated Care

Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust, which serves a population of 350,000 residents, has begun its rollout of Lyrebird Health, starting in the emergency department, then gastroenterology and gynaecology and outpatient services. As Kingston and Richmond shared in their announcement, the trust is adopting a phased approach, building on learnings from an earlier pilot program across ten specialties.

The launch was also covered by Heath Tech Newspaper, who reported on the rollout and on the trust's work with South West London partners and the SWL Acute Provider Collaborative to introduce the technology.

First to launch fully integrated with their Electronic Patient Records (EPS) system

Kingston and Richmond is the first trust in Lyrebird's South West London partnership to go live fully integrated with their EPS system, Oracle Cerner Millennium, from day one. This integration ensures real-time patient syncing and allows clinical documentation written directly back into the patient record, rather than sitting alongside it, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

On-the-ground support

Throughout the rollout, our dedicated Lyrebird team went on the ground to provide support alongside the Kingston & Richmond team. A unified planning, training, and escalation model has been implemented across all departments, while the support flexed to meet the specific needs of each team and clinician.

This collaborative effort follows a recent visit from then health secretary James Murray, who visited St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, another of the South West London trusts, to see Lyrebird in action.

Looking ahead

As Kingston and Richmond progresses, a second phase is already on the horizon, aiming to expand into more outpatient specialties and community services. We will continue to share updates as this rollout continues.
